I. Decription:

This modification introduces Breagar of Clan Bardormar as a joinable NPC into Baldur's Gate 1 and II. Breagar is of lawful good alignment and comes with an own kit: "Dwarven Blacksmith". There are dialogues, creatures, items, and quests added for both BG1 and BGII games. 
For BGT and EET, Breagar works as a continuous character all through the trilogy. There are three different ToB endings dependent on the player's choices.

For BG:EE, Tutu, BGII, and BGII:EE, only the according content of the game will be installed.

For v9.0.0 and later, the mod is compatible but independent on the Worldmap Mod, i.e. the Breagar Mod will work with the Worldmap Mod independent on whether it is  installed before or after, but the Worldmap Mod is not needed to see the new area added by Breagar on the games' worldmaps.

II. Installation:

- Backup your override folder, your dialog.tlk and (if present) dialogf.tlk before installing the mod. 
- Unpack the content of the Zip folder into the main folder of your Baldur's Gate II game.
- Start the setup-ACBreagar.exe by doble clicking on it.

III. Notes (important!)

-While his arm is injured (quest related), any pips in single weapon style will not be applied to Breagar. This is due to technical reasons, but ingame it could be explained by Breagar struggling with fighting with only one arm.

- For v9.0.0 and later, the mod is compatible but independent on the Worldmap Mod, i.e. the Breagar Mod will work with the Worldmap Mod independent on whether it is  installed before or after, but the Worldmap Mod is not needed to see the new area added by Breagar on the games' worldmaps.

-Version 9 does not offer the alternate portrait any more, due to Copyright reasons.

-Version 8 comes with a changed install routine. Deinstall previous versions and delete old mod folders before extracting the version 8 into your game folder.

- Version 6 and higher is not backwards compatible with Breagar version 5 or lower. You will have to start a new game.

- Installation of Breagar mod is done in two steps: the main component first, and the PID (Player Initiated Dialogues) and crossmod content in a second component. For the mod to work best with other mods, the second component should be installed as late as possible in a game with several mods.

IV. Compatibility:

Breagar was developped with WeiDU (2.07 to 2.24) and should be compatible with other WeiDU mods. It was designed for Leonardo's Big World Project and should be compatible with BGT in all constellations.

-Breagar is compatible with any "skip SoD" tweak in EET: he will spawn in BGII when he was in party upon facing Sarevok in Undercity no matter the game transition.

-For v9.0.0 and later, the mod is compatible but independent on the Worldmap Mod, i.e. the Breagar Mod will work with the Worldmap Mod independent on whether it is  installed before or after, but the Worldmap Mod is not needed to see the new area added by Breagar on the games' worldmaps.

-Note: the use of the Item Patcher that makes Breagar's items droppable might lead to incompatibilities in the game because some of Breagar's undroppable items are expected on him for quest and story porgress.

-Install Breagar before Brandock the Mage NPC Mod to see the crossmod content.

-Install Breagar after quest mods to see the crossmod content(alternatives, bgqe, bst, DSotSC, I4E, ToD).

-Install Breagar after Alassa, Amber und Auren to see the crossmod content.

I am not a D&D-player but prefer other Pen&Paper systems. All content related to Dwarves is in accordance to the D&D Handbook, inspiration from other authors, internet sources, and my own phantasy. I tried to remain close to the dwarves as they are suppose to be in Faern as close as possible. If you see any content that offends the D&D dwarf culture, let me know so I can improve Breagar to a real D&D dwarf!

	-(BG2) Breagar's Axe Quest: can be solved if PC has quest to attack the Thieves' Guild (for example if going another route to Spellhold like in Alternatives Mod); removed "game dead end" - Black Market Thieve won't turn the Guild hostile any more just because Breagar and the PC talk aggressively

XI: F.A.Q.

- Wieso die Installation in zwei Schritten?
Um eine grtmgliche Kompatibilitt mit dem BiG World Project zu gewhrleisten. Diese Routine wurde mit Leomar zusammen entwickelt und soll garantieren, dass Breagar und die
anderen den grtmglichen Profit aus allen Verbesserungen holen.

- Haben Zwergenfrauen jetzt Brte oder nicht?
Die Frage aller Fragen. Selbst (A)D&D ist sich da nicht sicher. Allerdings wird im Buch der Zwerge darauf hingewiesen, dass sie einen haben, und da Baldur's Gate auf AD&D 2
basiert, gehe ich einfach mal davon aus. Auerdem finde ich diese Idee viel charmanter als wenn sie keinen haben wrden.

- Breagar ist abgehauen, kommt er wieder?
Vielleicht. Normalerweise wird der Spieler informiert, wenn Breagar die Gruppe verlsst, dass er sich auch wieder anschliet. Wenn Breagar abhaut, ohne etwas zu sagen, dann ist
die Chance gro, dass er auch weg bleibt. Besonders, wenn er es von sich aus tut. Allerdings: Ausnahmen besttigen die Regel...

- Breagar ist ein Krppel! ZOMFG! Bleibt das so?
Nein, natrlich nicht. Spiel weiter.

- Das Kit "Zwergenschmied" rockt. Gibts das auch fr Spieler-Charaktere?
Nein. Zum einen, weil das wieder mit Aufwand verbunden wre, zum anderen, weil man glaube ich mit Fug und Recht sagen kann, dass es auf Kerzenburg keine Zwergenschmiede gibt, bei denen CHARNAME die Kunst htte lernen knnen.

- Wassn das fr ein Portrait? Ich will das alte wieder!
Das alte Portrait wurde aus Copyright-Grnden rausgenommen.

- Deine Mod ist genial!

Wenn jemand seinen Spielspa nachhaltig getrbt sieht, dann steht es jedem Spieler frei, Breagar seinen Bedrfnissen anzupassen. Es ist jedoch nicht erlaubt, eine vernderte Version der Modifikation ohne Erlaubnis des Autoren zu verbreiten.

XII: Letzte Worte

Weihnachten steht vor der Tr und, wie versprochen, wird Breagar pnkltich am 24.12.2010 released werden. Wenn ihr das lest, dann ist es bereits passiert. Ich bin immer wieder erstaunt und erfreut ber die vielen Rckmeldungen, die mir sagen, wie gut Breagar allen Leuten da drauen gefllt - als ich anfing zu modden sollte am Schluss eigentlich ein romanzierbarer Paladin bei rumkommen... und als ich dann feststellte dass diese Sparte besetzt war, schaute ich mich um, was es denn noch *nicht* gab. Der Rest ist dann Geschichte. 

Ich habe ein gutes halbes Jahr lang Feedback gesammelt und mir angeschaut, welche Punbte

Dies und der Umstand, dass ich jede Menge neuer Scriptingtricks gelernt habe, haben eine Version 5 gerechtfertigt. Auch wenn es an vielen Stellen euch Spielern nicht auffallen mag, aber fast jede Aktion wurde neu geskriptet, sie es vereinfacht oder einfach nur sicherer gemacht.

Dazu kommt die rege Kritik und Mitarbeit von den BWP-Fans da drauen - es ist immer wieder schn zu sehen, dass man mit der Begeisterung fr ein ber 10 Jahre altes Spiel nicht alleine ist. Ja, klopft euch ruhig selbst auf die Schulter, Breagar wre ohne eure Mithilfe nicht der Mod geworden, der er heute ist. Und auch, wenn es mich tatschlich immer noch erstaunt und verwundert, dass gerade ein Zwerg zwischen all den Drow, Halbdmonen, Elfen und tragischen Figuren diese Stellung eingenommen hat: Breagar zhlt zu den beliebtesten Figuren im Baldur's Gate Universum (auf deutschen Boden jedenfalls, wir werden sehen, was die englische bersetzung bringt). Das ist nicht allein mein Verdienst, sondern ist der Mithilfe von euch allen zu verdanken.

Deswegen widme ich Breagar allen begeisterten Baldur's Gate Freunden da drauen.
